Washington – George W. Bush and John Forbes Kerry are actually big friends. Both politicians yesterday in a press conference alerted the public to their close relationship.
Kerry said: "We met each other, quite informally, to go bowling. Our wives had the idea and we went along, for a better America and all that, but with some reservations at first. Turns out we had a lot of fun."
President Bush agreed. "Make no mistake, we are not in the same boat politically. But we like hanging out together enjoying the axis of fun: beer, sports, and women."
Kerry argued the relationship brought the Democrat and Republican parties closer together, though he did not want to see the line between politics and personal life blurred.
"In fighting the war on terrorism, my principles are straightforward," Kerry argued, escaping people's doubt he's not concerned on matters of national security.
Kerry went on to say: "Our troops have served with extraordinary bravery, skill and resolve. I wouldn't do everything the same way George does, but I respect him a great deal for being a cool leader. I also acknowledge his great sense of humor when it comes to Weapons of Mass Destruction – especially the subtle irony that it's actually us, the USA, with the most WMDs in the country."
George W. Bush joined the laughter, and continued: "I am grateful to share my walk in life with Laura Bush. And I believe the most solemn duty of the American President is to protect the American people. But I also believe, every once in a while, you just got to get out and get wasted with your buddy."
"And Kerry is the perfect buddy," the President told the press, "You should see him do his famous flip flop after a couple of beer."
